About Chris Chandler

Chris Chandler founded Trout OPS out of his passion for fly fishing, teaching, and life of service to others. After spending years fly fishing and enjoying the rivers of Northern California with friends, family, and fellow veterans, Chris discovered that fly fishing had a healing impact on both himself and his companions. One evening as he sat by the fire at the end of two exhilarating days chasing steelhead on the Trinity River, his longtime friend who served in Afghanistan and Iraq noted that it had been days since he had thought about his struggles. Chris knew then that he had to do something to help others find this same peace.

Chris now works as a fly fishing guide sharing his love and passion of fly fishing with people of all ages and backgrounds. In addition, he donates guided trips to veterans, and first responders who struggle with PTSD.  He continues to build a network of guides who are also passionate about fly fishing and love people.   ​
