Multi-Day/All Inclusive less than 30 days out:  50% deposit is non-refundable.

River & Weather Conditions

We fish snow, rain or shine. However, each guide must use common sense and discretion when it comes to safety. We may need to fish a different river, change to a walk and wade trip, cancel, or reschedule your trip if the weather or river is not safe to fish. If this rare occurrence happens, we do not reimburse lodging, meals, or travel.  Any refunds due will be limited to the cost of the guide and prepaid shuttle only.

Booking Policy

Trout OPS prides itself on providing the best fly fishing experience possible, with the hopes that you please join us to fish again! Trout OPS will do our best to make clients aware of weather projections, forecasts, and other variables as much as reasonably possible - however, sometimes weather, river conditions, safety and other unforeseen incidences occur out of our control, and following the scheduled itinerary is not possible. When this happens, we will stay in communication and work with our clients to find the best possible solution. Trout OPS highly suggests investing in trip insurance when available.

Gratuity

Our prices do not include Gratuities. It is recommended, but not required, to provide your guide a 20% gratuity at the conclusion of your trip.

Frequently Asked Questions

What equipment should I bring?

Please come prepared with a fishing license and a steelhead report card! Your guide will provide rods, reel, and all other required fishing & fly equipment. All-Day Trips also include lunch, provided by your guide.

Depending on the weather, you should dress appropriately. Winter weather requires layered clothing, and you should dress comfortably in summer temperatures. Please bring a hat, sunglasses, cream sunscreen (no sprays, please), snacks, a water bottle, and a rain jacket. Waders and boots are also encouraged for smaller rivers, but are not necessary for some trips.

Do you offer guide trips for non-veterans?

Yes! We do this for a living everyday and love what we do. We provide guide services to everyone regardless of age, background, or experience. Guiding is also another avenue for us to provide funds for our Veterans. 10% of all paid guide trips go directly toward our mission to support veterans.

Should I come alone or bring a buddy?

That is up to you. Most guides can accommodate up to two people on the drift boat or raft. However if you are both new to fly fishing, you may find a solo trip to be more helpful to focus on developing your new skills.  For walk and wade trips, our guides can accommodate up to four people for an additional $175 cost per person.

Is the shuttle service included in costs?

No. Shuttle service costs and availability vary based upon location and float. You may opt to self shuttle but this can eat into some of your fishable time. Shuttle costs vary between $30 & $80.

How much should I tip my guide?

It is up to you how much you tip your guide, but industry standard is between 20-25% of the total trip cost. While nothing is ever expected it is always appreciated. Keep in mind that your guide typically has to work harder on slower days, so please base your gratuity on the service provided, not the quantity of fish caught, especially if you are learning and the trip is more of a private lesson.
